![]() ![]() I have a 2560x1440p monitor and play all games at 1440p just fine at nearly maxed settings. Where are you getting that a GTX 780 is barely enough for 1080p? I have a gtx 760 at factory clocks and an older i7 920 that's overclocked. I still think they should release a 4k option when it comes out though 4k on the other hand is a beast at this time. Personally I think it borders on beyond a waste of money to get a gtx 780 or ti version for only 1080p because a lot of games wont take advantage of it at that resolution. ![]() A gtx 780 should be eating 2560x1440p with no issues if my 760 can handle even the more demanding ones almost maxed out. If I go down to 1080p resolution games run super smooth but look awful when not on native resolution. ![]() I get occasional frame rate dips in the more demanding games but its not that bad at all. I have a handful of other games that run flawlessly at 1440p (WoW, Tekken X Street fighter, CS, etc.) but the others listed are by far the most demanding. Bioshock Infinite 1440P at all max except for shading (still set high or whatever), crysis 2/3 at 1440p most settings maxed out. if people get over their thinking having crappy lower end midrange cards are "good enough" for vr So yeah, for most people i'd say 2.5k/4k are a bad idea.ĥ years from now. 2.5k/4k is only a bad idea for those people who think anything less than GTX780s and 290xs are "good enough" right now.ħ80s and 290xs are hardly fast enough for would be doable with displayport if we're willing to reduce graphics a lot(with 780s and 290xs).Īnd right now I'm not sure if there's enough bandwidth on Displayport for the 90+ fps we'll want at 4k, even if the cards have the horsepower.which they don't.Īnd this is all assuming people actually make 5" displays at 2.5k/4k that have 90+ fps. ![]()
